FINS
Search every dining hall menu on campus in one place. Find a dish, see where and when it is served, and stop checking each hall one at a time.
What it does
FINS is the Food Information and Notification System. Type a dish and it shows every hall serving it, for today and the days ahead, with the dietary tags and allergen notes that the dining hall publishes.
It also shows which halls are open right now, their hours, and what is on at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Why I built it
Finding out what is for dinner meant opening each hall's menu separately, on a slow page, on a phone. I wanted one fast search that works the way a student actually asks the question: where can I get this, and when.
Good to know
- Free, with no account and no ads.
- One data collector. The menus are gathered once and shared, so more people using it does not mean more load on the source.
- Allergens. Always confirm at the dining hall. FINS shows what is published and cannot guarantee it.
- Not affiliated. FINS is independent and is not endorsed or sponsored by NC State University.
